  1. There are two shareware versions of the GRAB Plus and WinGRAB system.
  2. Because of the size of the files we have split the DOS version and the 
  3. Windows version into two separate shareware evaluation packages. If you
  4. have the DOS version, disregard any references to the Windows programs
  5. and if you have the Windows version disregard any references to the DOS
  6. programs.  The manual is in the file GRAB.DOC and covers both versions.
  7. If you'd like to evaluate both the DOS and the Windows version contact
  8. you shareware distributor for the set that you do not have.  When you
  9. register the full package for $49.95 you will receive both the DOS and
  10. the Windows versions.  See the GRAB.DOC file for registration information.

  12. The BBS version has three files:  WINGRAB.ZIP holds the Windows specific
  13. files while GRAB.ZIP holds the DOS specific files and GRABDOC.ZIP holds
  14. the documentation style sheets and other files used by both versions of
  15. teh GRAB Plus system.  You need at least two files to use either of the
  16. packages, GRABDOC.ZIP plus either GRAB.ZIP or WINGRAB.ZIP.

  51. WINWIN10.DOC is a macro for Microsoft Word for Windows.  It will add WinGRAB
  52. to your utilities pulldown of WinWord.

  54. WINWGDB.DOC is a macro for Microsoft Word for Windows.  It will add WinGDB
  55. to your utilities pulldown of WinWord.

  59. AMI_GRAB.SMM is a macro similar to the WinWord macro. The file AMI-GRAB.DOC
  60. explains how to use this macro.

  62. WordPerfect for Windows users:

  64. WINGRAB.WCM is a WordPerfect for Windows macro that will attach WinGRAB
  65. to a command button or a pulldown of WordPerfect for Windows.

  67. WINGDB.WCM is a WordPerfect for Windows macro that will attach WinGDB
  68. to a command button or a pulldown of WordPerfect for Windows.

  74. For those that have Windows word processors other than Word for Windows.
  75. WinGRAB can be called by your execute command if your word processor has
  76. a macro language.  The command line "WINGRAB /R" will run WinGRAB and print
  77. an envelope without stopping to pop up.

  79. PostScript Printer users:
  80.  
  81. The font names are changed in the regular font changing selection for the
  82. PostScript printers now. The font size is changed in the locations setup
  83. section now.  The locations are now the same as all other printers using
  84. the row and column positioning to set up for printing.

  86. Different manufacturers of PostScript cartridges have hardware specific
  87. PostScript calls that can be used.  We have added the ability to enter the
  88. PostScript statusdict to select the different trays of the Hewlett Packard
  89. cartridges.  You have up to six lines you can enter in the Printer setup 
  90. strings routines.  Several PostScript examples are:

  107. Information on postal bar codes.  GRAB and WinGRAB will only print the bar
  108. codes on ZIP+4 zip codes.  If you do not have the plus four the bar code 
  109. will not be printed.

  111. Presently the only printers supporting the bar codes are:
  112.  
  113. Hewlett Packard LaserJets and compatibles.
  114. PostScript printers.
  115. Epson dot matrix and compatibles.
  116.  
  117. We're sorry the Hewlett Packard DeskJet is not compatible with the PCL
  118. graphic line drawing that prints the bar codes on the LaserJet printers.
  119.  
  120. We have the bar codes turned off in the style sheets PLAIN-S.STL and
  121. PLAIN-L.STL because the bar codes would print garbage if used on a printer
  122. that was not Epson compatible.  If you want the bar codes to print you must
  123. set the configuration in GRABCFG or through WinGRAB to print the bar codes.

  125. LaserLabel and postnet bar codes:
  126.  
  127. LaserLabel will print the postnet bar codes if you have the ZIP+4 ZIP codes
  128. in the GRABDB database.  The new "wide area" bar code will be processed by
  129. the post office after June 17, 1991.  This option is only available on the
  130. large Avery 5162/5262 labels used by the laser printers.  Check with the
  131. post office for discounts on postage when using the postnet bar code 
  132. feature.
